70% Content and 30% Sales

People never get mad if you give 70% great content, and up to 30% sales pitch.
While helping building up the AppSumo email list beyond 1,000,000 readers, I realized something after sending over 100m emails:
If I sent roughly 70% good content per email, and spent a maximum of 30% of the email selling….people never got mad.
Even though we’d try to sell in each email, if it came with enough value people enjoyed it.
